The Channel Island Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, in common with the United Kingdom branches, does not publish a scale of charges. However one can expect that having satisfied himself that there is no conflict of interest on his part and that he has the necessary expertise and experience to accept the appointment, the member will provide the inquirer with his terms and conditions of his employment. Generally his Fees will be based either on an hourly rate, and or on a daily rate, the rate being dependent on, inter alia, the complexity of the issues in dispute, the estimated time that he will require to devote to matters, and whether there is a predetermined time scale within which the dispute must be settled.

It is suggested that the inquirer makes contact with at least two members, who have registered their interest in providing ADR services, to obtain each member’s proposed fee structure.
